Nigerian women have been ranked as the highest users of skin bleaching creams in Africa. According to data from a study undertaken by Cable News Network, women from Nigeria are the highest consumers of skin-whitening creams ahead of four other African countries. 

A Consultant Nephrologist at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Borno State, Dr. Loskurima Umar says over 90 per cent of the causes of hypertension cases are not known. Dr. Umar explained that hypertension can be classified into primary and secondary hypertension, noting that while primary hypertension does not have a known cause, secondary hypertension has specific causes and is a complication of another health problem.

A new study by researchers from the Boston University School of Public Health has indicated that COVID-19 infection may have a short-term effect on male fertility.

The study which also investigated the effect of COVID-19 vaccines on male and female fertility noted that while there is no evidence that vaccines affect fertility in males and females, its data showed a short-term decline in male fertility after SARS-CoV-2 infection.
